What All You Missed At MWC 2018
MWC 2018 has encountered a series of tech gadgets making their ways, in the blanket of snow which capped the Barcelona white during the event. This year MWC took place in Barcelona, Spain along with the leading phone manufacturers coming all the way from different parts of the globe to flaunt their innovations.
As we all know that MWC- Mobile World Congress is an annual trade show run by the GSMA, wherein every popular manufacturer join together with their series of latest phones, smartwatches, tablets, to name a few.
Undeniably MWC is the biggest phone show and a destination for the impeccable innovations, flexible displays, mobile chipsets, AI solutions coupled with 5G and much more. Eventually, MWC has much to display that it becomes next to impossible for any ardent technology aficionado to track down every gadget and pick one of the best pieces out of all.
Considering this problem we have decided to bring every update and the technology introduced at MWC 2018…let’s begin the tech-voyage…
Sony is an old market player with huge fan list to be associated with it. Sony Xperia received a huge applause due to the final adieu to squarish omnibalance design, which had been a part of Xperia models for many years.
The new Xperia is a combination of aesthetically appealing mixed material chassis, featuring a 2.5D and a slightly curved glass back.
Apart from the outer look, Sony has taken efforts to transform the internals of the phone as well, for instance, Xperia new version is loaded with Snapdragon 845 CPU, larger battery, transformed rear camera and most significantly 20% louder speakers, which stole the limelight and really made it a compelling aspect to add Xperia on our list.
Although the name itself sounds so enticing, and on exploring further, we found the phone was actually an irresistible part of the MWC 2018.
Nokia has always been remembered for its durability, long battery hours and the quality of handsets, and this legacy is carried forward with Nokia’s Banana phone as well.
Also, the Nokia 7+ is another handset, which turned heads during MWC 2018, not due to its aesthetic design but being one of the best mid-range phones on the market.
Nokia 7+ has a metal hood with some of the impressive specifications, such as 6-inch 18:9 FHD+ resolution display, Snapdragon 660 CPU, and generous 64GB storage.
These all features are available at the throwaway price of merely €39.
Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+
When it comes to technology and innovation, one Android phone manufacturer which beats the odds of competition is Samsung.
Samsung has already gained worthy recognition in the field of mobile phone manufacturing, but it was the introduction of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ which captured the attention in the MWC this year.
These two phones have gone through the vigorous transformation and have received a series of improvements, like basic specification upgrade, Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 CPU, aperture rear camera sensor, camera’s capability of switching between f/2.4 and f/1.5 apertures depending on the environment.
In total these changes have changed the entire game of competition and would indeed be on the must-to-have list of the buyers.
Also, the much anticipated Samsung smart speaker shall be coming to the market by mid-2018.
Asus- Zenfone 5 is pre-loaded with a variety of design innovations, which consists of beautiful, near edge-to-edge 18:9 display, DCI-P3 color gamut, a dual-lens rear camera with AI integration, which allows the camera to shoot in 16 different conditions.
It will come at the cost of a £600.
It is one of the latest Moto Mod for Motorola’s Z line of smartphones, which once attached to the back of a compatible Moto Z-series Smartphone, it works as a biometric scanner, which can easily detect the key health stats; blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, plus oxygen and temperature.
The new CPU Snapdragon 700 from Qualcomm is the most robust Snapdragon 845 CPU. This CPU includes Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+, Bluetooth 5 support plus a number of nifty AI and camera optimizations.
Huawei has always been a proven name in offering the tech-infused ultrabook, and this is carried out further with the Matebook X Pro, which made an entry in MWC 2018.
Talking about the aesthetic appeal of the laptop, it is indeed one of the most mesmerizing laptops, with super slim and sleek design, Intel 8th Gen CPU, HUGE memory and storage options.
Also, it has 13.9-inch, 3000 x 2000 LTPS, 260ppi display, coupled with quad-speaker system and “recessed” webcam…all make it a MUST-HAVE piece.
5G finally made an entry with Intel and MWC witnessed the wave of innovative technologies. Intel has unleashed the association with the Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Microsoft to bring launch laptops using its 5G enabled Intel XMM 8000 by the mid of 2019.
On seeing the Yoga 730 from Lenovo, doesn’t strike any spark of any difference from its predecessors, but sooner you are closed to the laptop, you find it completely different with different features, like Amazon Alexa support and under-the-hood Lenovo laptop has the 730 with omni-directional mics, which helps the Amazon to take advantage as Amazon’s smart assistant.
CAT has launched a new handset- The Land Rover phone, this phone is developed by Bullitt Group, with the ultra-rugged case to protect the mobile phone from extreme climatic conditions.
This phone has a series of useful software installed, like topographic mapping options from ViewRanger, AR Skyline feature and instant weather information, sensor data and an SOS light toggle.
Undeniably the MWC 2018, has much more to offer, and the recent mobile app development trends followed by the top mobile app development companies are surely going to be hit, for something much innovative and engaging to be created for the users.
